The tension setting is a unique and visually appealing setting. The tension setting is named because of the tension of the metal band that holds the stone in place. To do this, jewelers use a laser to cut tiny grooves into the band to hold the stone in place. This results in the stone being suspended between the two ends of the band.
For those who want the look of a tension setting, but live an active lifestyle, there is also a tension-style setting. Tension-style settings use a prong or bezel setting on the side or underneath the stone to anchor the band. Using a tension-style, you can get the look with less cost and more stone security.
I’ve included the links below to the auctions featured in this video, but I can’t include all of our tension and tension-style settings, so check out the PoliceAuctions.com Jewelry category for our full selection.
