Rose gold is a combination of yellow gold and copper. It first appeared in Russia in the 19th century.

Rose gold was very popular in the Mid-Victorian era as a symbol of love. It reached the height of its popularity in the 1920s when Cartier jewelers released their Trinity band which was three bands of white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold linked together. Rose gold remained popular until the 1990s when minimalism came into fashion.
